MoZhu is cultural entertainment software built on Chinese tradition. We take ideas that have been passed down for over a thousand years — the Four Pillars (BaZi) birth chart, the solar terms of the Chinese almanac, five-element name-crafting — and retell them in ink-wash design and plain, modern language you can actually enjoy and share.
“What our ancestors left us shouldn't stay locked in old books. I want people everywhere to be able to touch this wisdom in a way that is beautiful and easy to understand.”
Our founder's story
MoZhu was started by a middle-aged founder with a lifelong love of traditional Chinese culture. As a boy he leafed through the family almanac and listened to his elders talk about the seasons and birth hours. What stayed with him was never whether a prediction came true — it was a way of living: reading the seasons, knowing when to act and when to wait, moving with nature instead of against it.
Over the years he noticed that most of what he found online was either buried in jargon or dressed up to sell fear. Something genuinely wise was being told badly, and friends outside China had almost no way in. So he set out to do one thing well: carry this old wisdom to the world with care and dignity.
The name says it: 墨 (mò) is ink, the brush; 柱 (zhù) is the pillar, as in the Four Pillars. Charts written in ink, seasons read through the pillars. We hope that everyone who opens MoZhu finds not a cold verdict, but a gentle conversation — with themselves, and with Eastern culture.
What we make
- Four Pillars (BaZi) charts with plain-language readings — each line shows its basis and ends with practical advice
- The MoZhu Almanac: the 24 solar terms, daily do's and don'ts and the twelve double-hours, matched against your own chart
- Five-element name-crafting, ink portraits, tarot and oracle reflections
- Five languages: Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, English, Japanese and Korean
How we work
- Charts, solar terms and stem-branch dates are calculated by code following the rules of the traditional calendar. Readings draw on our team's curated knowledge base, with text written with AI assistance (provider: DeepSeek); they are not guaranteed to be accurate.
- MoZhu is for cultural entertainment and self-reflection. We do not predict the future, and we never give medical, legal, financial or relationship-decision advice.
- No fear-selling, no paid rituals, blessings or human fortune-telling sessions. Your birth data is used to draw your chart and generate readings, never for ads and never sold, and you can delete it at any time.
Five languages, written with care
We don't machine-translate and hope for the best. Each language is written so that ideas like the solar terms and the five elements read naturally to local readers.
