Three questions to ask yourself
- “只一點故情留” — if this line were a painting, where would you be standing in it?
- “直似春蠶到老” — what is harder to let go of here: the outcome, or the process?
- “尚把絲抽” — what is the smallest thing you could do for it today?
About this set
A folk collection of fortune-stick poems named after Yue Lao, the old man under the moon of matchmaking legend; this site only explains the text. Some lots are lines of verse, but most quote short passages from classics such as the Book of Songs, the Analects and Mencius. The traditional set has 101 lots (including a 'king lot'); this library covers lots 1–100.
The poems are traditional folk texts in the public domain, checked against several published versions. The ink paintings are drawn by the site from each poem's imagery. For cultural entertainment only — it can't predict the future and isn't advice of any kind. MoZhu is not affiliated with any temple or religious organization.
