This policy explains how MoZhu (墨柱, “we”, “us”) handles personal information when you use https://mozhu.ai. Contact: [email protected].
Who this covers
This policy applies to visitors and account holders of MoZhu, an entertainment and cultural self-exploration service with free charts, AI readings, Inkseed credits and memberships. Payments are processed by Dodo Payments, our Merchant of Record, which handles payment information under its own privacy policy.
Information we collect
We collect only what we need to run the service:
- Account details. Your email address, and a password (stored only as a secure hash) or sign-in token. If you sign in with Google, Google shares the email address and basic profile information (such as your name and profile picture) that you approve; we never receive your Google password.
- Birth and profile details you choose to enter. Some readings need details such as a date and time of birth, gender or a place. We use them to calculate the chart and write the reading you asked for. Please do not enter another person’s details without their permission.
- Your readings and records. Readings, questions, chat messages with masters or your Ink Beast, and records you save, so you can open them again.
- Purchase records. What you bought, when, the amount, and the payment reference we receive from Dodo Payments.
- Usage and technical data. Basic logs such as IP address, browser type, pages visited and the time of a request, used to keep the site secure, prevent abuse and fix errors.
- Privacy-friendly analytics. A self-hosted Umami instance counts page views and key actions without cookies and without personal data. We do not use Google Analytics or advertising trackers.
- Feng shui check counts. The feng shui checks only count, anonymously, how many checks were completed and how many times each suggestion came up. The count table stores no account, IP address or device information.
- Support messages. If you email us, we keep the message and our reply so we can resolve the request.
Photo processing
Face reading and palm reading offer optional photo analysis. Your photo is analysed on your own device, in your browser (MediaPipe face and hand landmarks plus palm-line estimation). Your photo is never uploaded to our servers; only the resulting feature labels (for example, a forehead-width category) are sent to write the reading.
The feng shui home check has an optional “Snap to fill in” step. The room photo is also analysed on your device (MediaPipe object detection) and is never uploaded; we only use the names of objects it finds (such as TV or plant) to pre-tick answers, and the photo is cleared when you leave the page.
We ask for your consent before analysis starts. The photo is used only for that reading and is cleared when you leave the page. We do not perform facial recognition, build face databases or use photos to train models. Photo analysis is only for users aged 18 or over.
Payments
Checkout is provided by Dodo Payments, our Merchant of Record, which collects and processes your card or other payment details and billing information. MoZhu never sees or stores your full card number. Dodo Payments sends us limited information, such as your email address, billing country, the product, the amount, the payment status and a payment reference, so that we can deliver what you bought, run your membership and handle refunds.

- to calculate charts, write the readings you ask for and keep your records
- to deliver Inkseed and membership benefits, and to keep purchase records
- to answer support emails, including refund requests
- to protect the service against abuse, fraud and security incidents
- to meet legal duties that apply to us
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your birth details for advertising.
How readings are generated
Reading text is produced by an AI system from the details you submit and from MoZhu’s own content. The result is entertainment and cultural self-exploration, not a factual prediction or professional advice. We do not publish your readings or birth details.
Sharing
We share information only as needed:
- Dodo Payments, our Merchant of Record, to process payments, taxes and refunds
- Cloudflare, for website delivery, security protection and encrypted backup storage (global network)
- our cloud server provider, which hosts the website and database in Tokyo, Japan
- Resend, which sends sign-in, verification and notice emails
- our AI model provider (currently DeepSeek), which receives what is needed to write a reading or reply, such as chart results, birth details you entered, your questions, chat messages and photo feature labels, and processes them on servers in China only to generate that content
- authorities, if the law requires us to disclose information
We do not give your birth details or readings to advertisers.
Retention
When you delete your account, your account, birth details, readings, chats and Ink Beast records are deleted from our live database straight away. Payment records are kept for bookkeeping, tax and refund or dispute handling, but are unlinked from you. Database backups are kept for 14 days on our server and, encrypted, for up to 60 days off-site, then overwritten; we do not use them for anything else in the meantime. While your account is open, we keep your birth details and readings so you can reopen them. Security logs are usually kept for up to 12 months, longer only if needed to investigate abuse.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to receive a copy in a portable format. You can also complain to a data protection authority. To use these rights, email [email protected]; we may need to confirm that the request comes from you. You can delete your account from your account settings. Deleting your account does not by itself refund a payment; see our Refund Policy.
Where data is processed, and children
MoZhu is operated from China. The website and account database are hosted on servers in Tokyo, Japan. Reading and chat text is generated by our AI model provider on servers in China. Dodo Payments and our email provider may process data in other countries, with the transfer safeguards the law requires where they apply.
MoZhu is not directed at children. Do not create an account or enter birth details if you are under 18.
Changes
We will post updates on this page and change the date above. If a change materially affects how we use your information, we will take reasonable steps to tell account holders.
