Lesson 6 / 10
Reading reversed cards
An upside-down card doesn't mean 'the bad version'. A reversal is more like the same energy blocked, weakened, or turned inward.
Three common readings
Blocked: the upright good is delayed. Too much or too little: the upright quality is overdone or unused. Inward: it's happening inside you and hasn't shown yet.
Don't scare yourself
Reversed Death or Tower often means 'you're resisting change', not something worse; reversed Nine of Swords actually means anxiety is easing.
Beginners can skip them
If it feels like too much, read only upright at first and add reversals once you're comfortable.
Key points
- Reversed ≠ bad
- Blocked, overdone/underused, or inward
- It's fine to start upright-only
Try this
Pick a card you like and write one sentence for it upright and one reversed. Where's the difference?
These lessons treat tarot as a tool for reflection and storytelling, not prediction.
