What Rob Wealth is
Rob Wealth is one of the Ten Gods. The Ten Gods are ten names fixed by each stem-branch's elemental relationship and polarity relative to the Day Master (the Day Pillar's stem). Rob Wealth means: a stem-branch of the same element but *different* polarity from the Day Master. A Jia Wood Day Master meeting Yi Wood — same element, different polarity — is Rob Wealth; Yi meeting Jia, Bing meeting Ding, and so on. In branches, judge by the principal Hidden Stem: a Jia day meeting Mao (Mao's principal qi is Yi) counts as Rob Wealth.
Traditionally, Rob Wealth is likened to an opposite-gender sibling: same kind as the Day Master but different polarity. The "rob" in the name describes same-kind competition — picture two siblings eyeing the same inheritance: the name sounds fierce, but it's a traditional label for rivalry dynamics, not actual robbery. Traditional temperament descriptions lean toward quick-wittedness, adaptability, and competitive courage; unrefined, it may show as opportunism or impatience. These are traditional images — always read against the whole chart.
In the traditional six-relatives mapping, Rob Wealth stands for opposite-gender siblings, and can also reference friends and colleagues. The key to Rob Wealth is the rule "same element, different polarity," and telling it apart from Friend Star: same polarity makes Friend Star; different polarity makes Rob Wealth. MoZhu's Ten Gods tool lists each pillar's Ten God for your Day Master.
This page covers only Rob Wealth's definition, lookup, and traditional sayings — no readings are made from it. When studying the Ten Gods, master the generating/controlling relationships and polarity conditions first, then read the classical texts for the imagery.
